Energy Efficiency
Comparison with the European Union, Bulgaria consumes seven times more per unit of GDP electric energy. Over 40% of households in the country fall into the category of “energy poverty” because they are unable to cover their costs for energy (electricity and heating) without affecting the other essential needs like food, training, etc. In this connection, the company GASTEH BG Ltd. has a contract for project financing for energy efficiency in households with DSK Bank credit line from EBRD. Loans are targeted at end users – individuals, to finance the purchase and installation of boilers, approved under European Directive 92/42/EEC
